Suzuki Boulevard c50t

In 2010, Suzuki carries on producing their big boy models without any changes apart from the ones involving color schemes and the C50 series is no exception from the rule. Not heavily refined, but enough to make a difference are the base model, the C50T and the Special Edition one, all with something special to offer.

Classic cruisers are less likely to go out of fashion and implicit out of production as long as there are enough guys that prefer classic jeans, leather jackets and helmets instead of leather interiors and fancy onboard computers. That’s what Suzuki reckons and some of the best proofs of this fact are the 2009 Boulevard C90 and C90T models which keep on going in the style that consecrated the VL 1500 Intruder more than a decade ago.

Suzuki has accorded a lot of attention to performance cruisers in these last few years and so have been introduced models such as the entry-level M50 and their ultimate demonstration of power, the M109R. But their famous Boulevard line of cruising motorcycles didn’t feature anything in between these two models, something that would fill in the big gap and keep consumers hooked to Suzuki…until last year’s Suzuki Boulevard M90. The bike carries on to 2010, so let’s find out more about it.

Suzuki Boulevard s40

The Suzuki Boulevard S40 is an entry-level cruising motorcycle derived from the LS650 Savage, the first chopper manufactured by a Japanese builder in 1986. Equipped with a single cylinder 647cc engine, it wasn’t even a Harley imitation, but it caught up to the public very well. The idea was to create a lightweight motorcycle which would be adequate for cruising and easy to handle, suitable for beginners and people with short legs. With a seat height of only 26.0 inches, the bike had clearly reached its goal and the beginning of the story was marked.
The decades didn’t bring virtually any changes apart from some facelifts. The air-cooled 652 cc SOHC single-cylinder, 4-valves, TSCC developing 31hp at 5,400rpm and 50Nm at 3,000rpm, remains the same.

Just like the Intruder Volusia 800, the Boulevard M50 can fit a variety of mid-range sized saddlebags. The 2000-BK is an excellent choice. The 2500-BK and the 1500-BK are quite popular as well.
